Fueling the Fire: What Keeps me Going?

What keeps me going?

What keeps me going? The real question, why do I keep doing what I do despite the obstacles, challenges and uncertainty. The simple answer is two things, impact someone directly and inspire someone watching. There are very few individuals or organizations that look at it from this point of view, and that is okay, because everyone’s motivation is different.

Despite all this, at the core, the running question will always be what fuels the fire within to persist, to push forward, and to keep striving for our goals and dreams? My fuel is not astronomically different from yours, and in attempt to help you find your fuel, I want to share with you my driving forces that ignite my passion.

Passion and Purpose

At the core of my drive lies a deep sense of purpose and passion. I believe that each of us has a unique calling in life, essentially a reason for being. Discovering my purpose and aligning it with my passions has been a powerful catalyst for my motivation. It’s the realization that I have a meaningful contribution to make, that my actions can have a positive impact on others and the world around me. Embracing my purpose fuels my determination and gives me the strength to persevere when faced with challenges.

Personal Growth

Looking for personal growth is another factor that keeps me going. I believe that in anything we do one should strive to become the best versions of themselves. Each day presents an opportunity for learning, self-reflection, and growth. Whether it’s acquiring new skills, expanding my knowledge, or challenging my comfort zones, the prospect of continuous growth fuels my drive. Always embracing personal development allows me to unlock my full potential.

Support System

Surrounding myself with a supportive network of family, friends, and mentors has been key in keeping me motivated. You need to find people people who believe in you, encourage you, and offer guidance during tough times, I promise this provides an invaluable source of strength. They serve as a reminder that you are not alone on this journey and that together, you can overcome any obstacle. The unwavering support of my loved ones keeps me motivated, reminding me of the importance of building and nurturing these relationships.

Goals and Vision

Setting clear goals and having a  vision for the future is a vital ingredient in maintaining my motivation. I discussed this in my blog: Vision, Focus and Clarity. By envisioning the life I desire and setting ambitious yet achievable goals, I create a roadmap that helps me get there. Goals provide a sense of direction, and the progress I make along the way fuels my passion. Whenever I encounter setbacks, I always remind myself of why I started and why I am doing this.

Learning from Failure

If I told you guys the number of times I have failed or been rejected, you would not believe. However, Failure is not a roadblock but rather a stepping stone on the path to success. Embracing failure as an opportunity to learn, grow, and improve has been a game-changer in my journey. Instead of succumbing to discouragement, I see setbacks as valuable lessons. Each failure brings with it a chance to reassess, adapt, and come back stronger. The resilience I gain from learning from failure propels me forward and fuels my determination to keep going.

Gratitude and Mindfulness

Practicing gratitude and mindfulness has transformed the way I approach the many challenges I am faced. Taking time to appreciate the present moment, focusing on the positives, and expressing gratitude for even the smallest blessings fills me with a renewed sense of energy. It reminds me of the abundance in my life and the progress I’ve made. Cultivating mindfulness and gratitude helps me stay grounded, resilient, and motivated to make the most out of every opportunity. My Uncle once told me “there is greatness in humility” and I always have humility at the core of what I do,

These 6 driving forces are what keep me going. They interlink with each other, support my thoughts on different aspects of the work I do. They always remind me of how far I have come and how far I can still go if I remain focused and dedicated to what I want to do. If there is anything I want you to take from this it’s that your journey is unique and you should not compare yourself to anyone or anything. Everything has it’s time and discovering your purpose and staying true to it will help you not get distracted by comparison.

Find your passion! And keep going!
